2012 Homecoming Dress Trends

September is right around the corner and for millions of girls that means its time to start looking for homecoming dresses. 2012 will be the chance for many girls to try out the bold and dynamic new trends in homecoming 2012 style. Homecoming is a particularly exciting event as dress codes are usually looser than prom, allowing girls to wear their favorite dresses, long or short, in a variety of styles. Here are a few of the biggest trends in homecoming 2012 style:

Sequins are an exceptionally popular trend this year. A sequined dress in bright colors will always make a statement but this trend is surprisingly versatile. A sequined bodice in whites or pastels creates a romantic look and sequins in black will always be classic and elegant.

3 Ideas To Make

Creating meaningful connections with your alumni base is the lifeblood of any athletic program...from high school to college.  No matter the level, you have alumni and they more than likely have very fond memories of their time with your organization.  The key is engaging them in meaningful contact and conversation and not always being worried about what's in their wallet.

Come together: We all have natural gathering points that we should focus on.  For high schools and universities, Homecoming is a great time to focus on...have an alumni game and a reception for your sport's alums and encourage them to bring their families.  Everyone loves to catch up...why not have them catch up at your event?   For club directors, the beginning of club season could be a gold mine for bringing former players back into the fold.  Have them speak at your parent's meetings, if they can't be there...maybe their parents can be.  I can't imagine you have any parents in your system that aren't more worried about their child's experience than her playing time...your parent alums can speak on that subject.

5 Tips For Collecting

Whether you are planning a class reunion or a family reunion, one of the biggest obstacles to overcome is how to get people to purchase tickets for the event.

Planning a reunion is hard enough, but when you don't know how many people to expect, it is next to impossible. It is very important to know well in advance how many people are coming to the reunion events you are planning. How else can you predict the size of the space you should rent, the amount of food to order, and what kind of entertainment to book?

The following 5 tips are essential if you want to make your life easier as the organizer of your class reunion or family reunion.

A Guide for Expats and International

Recent years show a steady increase in the number of international students looking to obtain higher education in the UK, focusing mainly on studying in London, as well as a raise in the number of foreign nationals living in London as part of their employment training and management requirements. This guide will focus on useful information and tips for both the international students in the UK and the large community of expatriates in London.

About London:

Rich in history and heritage, London provides a blend of past and present. With roots dating as early as 43 AD, when it was built by the Romans and named at that time Londinium, London has grown and developed with time to the huge multicultural metropolitan it is today and of the three most important financial centers in the world.

Alumni Chapters Connect Network

There's a time and a place for everything, it's called college. And the memories you take away from college should last a lifetime. With a growing number of college graduates in the population, Alumni connections are now more important than ever. Yet after graduation, most people get a new job, move away, get new friends, and lose touch with their University. Since college is the time where a majority of people discover who they are and what they want to be, it is vital to remember the University from which you came. Here are a few examples of why it is so important to maintain that bond and live on as a legacy.

First I will quickly cover how Alumni Associations are typically designed. There will be a main Alumni office on campus. There is a board of directors who manages things like newsletters, sponsors, local activities, and scholarships. They will also have a hand in maintaining a number of Alumni chapters across the nation. The Alumni Chapters are a smaller version of the Alumni's main office, just with much less overhead to operate under. Every Alumni chapter will have a Board of Directors who will focus on local fundraising events. These events can be anything from football watch parties and happy hour meets to a day on the golf course or a day at the beach. Chapters will even get together sometimes for a little friendly competition. The fundraising is for several things, mainly to put up as scholarship money, but also to help reduce the cost of certain events.

Alumni Network

Networking can be expanded through many avenues including your college, university or academic institution. Professionals are constantly encouraged to reach out to their alumni associations to network, build relationships, make new connections and advance academically and professionally. Colleges, universities and other academic institutions have been established for several years and provide a strong foundation for networking opportunities locally, nationally and internationally.

Listed below are some helpful tips of how professionals can take a huge advantage of their alma mater benefits!

Alumni Checklist

The first thing a professional should do when trying to network within their college, university or academic institution is to directly contact the office of alumni affairs or administration. Find the director of alumni affairs and make sure that your contact information is correct and updated. It is good to give as much information as possible so that it is easy for you to be found in a search online or in a printed directory. Alumni associations usually publish annual directories online or hard copy. Publications can categorize alumni by year of graduation, degree type, school type, city, state or professional industry.

Alumni Travel A Great Way To Travel

Traveling itself is a great learning experience and has several kinds of benefits. When traveling with a group, especially an alumni travel, it can be a rejuvenating and refreshing experience. Alumni travel means you can travel along with a big group of familiar people who have something in common. You also get to make acquaintances with the unknown people of the alumni. Traveling has major health benefits and can help you stay relaxed, giving you a break from the monotony of daily life. The different places that you visit also help you to acquire knowledge about new places and new culture, seeing breathtaking memorable places and gathering a lot of experience in the process.

Black College Tours

Many Americans and foreigners want to attend a historically black college. There are many reasons for this. Students enjoy the prestige of a university founded by an African-American historical figure, intellectual or scholar. The most appealing factors for many students are the university provides diverse academic and cultural programs, faculty, collections, and community that reflect and represent African-Americans' roles in history, science, culture, and society.

There are some excellent black colleges on the East Coast, many clustered in the Washington D.C. or Virginia area. So, I decided to create a black colleges tour that focuses on these universities. The tour is designed for high school students who are deciding which college to attend. Following is a brief description of each university, highlighting the history of the institution, academic departments that are most distinguished and other facts about the college,

Circus Volleyball Club Review

A fun name for a fun club. A mainstay on Chicago's club volleyball scene, Circus Volleyball club was founded thirty years ago by Dave Boze, who started the the club with one freshman team in 1980. Dave, who was nicknamed "Bozo" gave the new volleyball club its name in reference to its being called "Dave Boze's Circus." Circus is the oldest club in the Great Lakes Region and for the 2009-2010 season has six teams. One 18s, four 16s, and one 14s team.

The club's mission, as stated on its site is "to teach student athletes who value education and wish to play volleyball at a highly competitive level of play. To dedicate, discipline and commit themselves to practice not more than 8 hours weekly. Love for the game with the highest level of competitiveness. To teach the meaning of commitment, team composition and focus on advancement above winning."

Club Sponsorship Great Suggestions

Sponsorship is a great way with the help of which various clubs can raise funds and collect the required amount of money. It is very essential for the administrators and supporters of the club to attract sponsors because sponsorship can really help your club to gain immense popularity. Every club should have two and more major sponsors and other minor sponsors. People will only sponsor your association if you will provide them some special services and benefits.

If you are a major sponsor of a club then you have to donate them money and provide them some special services. In return of your favor the club members would include your business name and logo in the playing attire which would act as an advertisement for your company.
